Sales Vs Marketing

A number of organization still do confuse Sales and Marketing as same function. Assign the responsibility of marketing to their Sales guys. I have done the same myself.

So here are two cents of what I have observed.

Marketing is like spreading net for geese. And Sales is shooting the trapped geese.

……..Dont remember who said it J

Now Marketing is all about reaching your target audience. Being present at the time and place when they are looking for service providers like you..Being searched by right people.

Sales is then the process of understanding and meeting the requirements. Be able to get that final sign off ..whoops it takes a while and effort.



Life is Present

I watched a movie very recently “Kung Fu Panda”. Pretty neat, I enjoyed every moment.

It’s a movie about “Belief in yourself”. It’s an animation movie – where a Tortoise is the Head of Kung Fu clan. At the time Panda – Hero of the movie was down and upset about not being able to perform, Tortoise came and told him – Enjoy today. Today is a gift and that’s why its called “Present”. So true.

As the lead of Search Value family, one of the roles is to keep all family members happy and enjoy Present.

Now, advertisers with campaigns using AdWords Conversion Tracking with at least 50 conversions in the last 30 days are eligible to use the Conversion Optimizer for better performance of their AdWords campaign. Earlier, conversion optimizer was available for the campaigns with at least 100 conversions in the last 30 days.

This is really a very helpful service offered by Google AdWords which saves the time & efforts made in constantly monitoring and adjusting the CPC bids. Here, we just have to set the max CPA, and Conversion Optimizer monitors and adjusts the CPC bids based on the CPA goal. And the most interesting aspect of this is that it is totally FREE!

Search is synonymous to Marketing. Any organisation would like to be searched by its relevant Target audience.

So our journey starts from Search and ends with Value Creation.

Hyphen ‘-‘ is symbolic of the journey that our client travel along with us to reach the Value. Hyphen also marks the capability of team. Though a name SearchValue would have been more enviable but if one is choosing to name URLs it is always advisable that one picks up hyphen ‘-‘ over underscore ‘_’.

Comparison of Internet as a Marketing Medium with other media

Internet is powerful, we have heard of this phrase so many times. But what does it really mean. And why we believe in power of Internet as a marketing medium. So much so that all of us working in the company have chosen this to make our career in this service area.

Zero Start Cost – Literally zero

If you know how to purchase the stuff online, you are pretty well equipped to do Internet Marketing.You know your product, great, why don’t write a Press release on “How your product can benefit?” . Find a good forum which users generally refer. Submit your article or press release or a product review with a link for your site. People can judge if it’s a genuine article, as you can. And yes if you can write about it and submit you can sow the seeds of great traffic coming to your website.

Yeah, you just did some great stuff which for years will keep on sending a targeted stream of visitor to your site. Trust, some of the aspects of Internet marketing are this simple. And how much did it costed you – an hour of your efforts.

But can you do the same in any other traditional medium be it electronic or print or brochures. Answer is no.
